Lombok Island is administratively a city in West Nusa Tenggara province. The island is located in a transition of imaginary line of Wallace which sets apart the Indonesian west and east area. Thus, there are various unique floras and fauna can be found. No need to wonder of the natural beauty consisting of beaches, mountains, islands and underwater.

The tourism attractions in Lombok are beaches with their mostly long coastal line beautified with uniquely flora. Beaches in the southern part such as Kuta Lombok, Gerupuk, etc., are beaches before Indian Ocean with big waves crashing the coral stones. Some of them are surfing spots for tourists who mostly come from foreign countries. The mountainous Lombok landscape is a special exotism. For example, from Malimbu hill, the tourists can witness the beauty of western Lombok coastal line, Mount Rinjani and the three Gilis; Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno all at one. The magnificence of the slope of Mount Rinjani can be explored by visiting Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfall in Senaru village which is an entrance gate to the area of Mount Rinjani National Park. The splendor and greeny forest like Baun Pusuk forest in which loads of monkeys inhabit is worthy to be explored.

Furthermore, the life of multiethnic society becomes a special magnetism of the island. The custom villages of Sasak tribe who constantly perform their origin rites and special cultures which are reflected in the Lombok architectures and handicraft – traditional woven clothes – still exists today, e.g. Sade village. Religious temples of the Hindu society in Lombok can be found as well, such as Batu Bolong temple in the shore side.

Lombok can be reached by two modes of transportations; by air transportation via Lombok Praya International Airport and sea transportation by going across the sea from Padang Bai port in Bali to Lembar port in Lombok.

1. Best time to Explore Lombok – Gili is on March – November every year.
2. If you go without travel agent, plan your own itinerary and rent a motorcycle or car due to the rare public transportation to the tourism spots.
3. Check the schedule of the boat crossover to Gilis in advance.
4. Bring your personal medicine.
5. Use sunscreen lotion to protect your skin against the sunburn.
6. Bring underwater camera to capture underwater view during snorkeling or diving
7. Bring backpack or travel bag to ease your trip.
8. Wear mountaineering footgear to ease your trekking activity when you visit to the slope of mount Rinjani.
